Texas faces a food insecurity rate of 17.6%, representing 5.4 million people
Children make up 31% of those affected
This represents a 9% increase since 2022
Areas served by the Tarrant Area Food Bank and the North Texas Food Bank saw a 12% increase in individuals served compared to the prior year
Over 60% of the 1.3 million people experiencing food insecurity live in Dallas & Tarrant counties
