About Us

Brown Fam Foundation

When I moved to DFW from West Texas in 1993, I was impressed by the numerous opportunities in North-Central Texas, but a significant humanitarian crisis loomed in the background. The prevalence of hunger, poverty, and homelessness has exponentially increased over the years. These issues have been exacerbated by the market crash of 2008 and the pandemic in 2020, reaching unprecedented levels. I never anticipated that the Dallas-Fort Worth area would experience such an epic crisis amidst all of the sustained growth and prosperity all around.  The extent of human suffering is apparent and pervasive throughout our communities. Therefore, I am committed to taking immediate action to address this challenge.  While it may not be possible for one individual to resolve everything, it is crucial that each person contributes in some way.  We will not let another day pass without striving for a solution.

The inception of The Lonnie & Mildred  Brown Family Foundation, Inc. (TBFF, Inc.) occurred in 2025. Growing up as the daughter of a Master Sergeant at Fort Bliss, Texas, there were numerous defining moments in my family life that have led me to this point. My Father, MSG Lonnie Brown, Jr., served honorably in Korea and completed two tours in the Vietnam War, achieving a tenured and decorated Military career.  He exemplified servant leadership by answering the call to duty, serving his country, loving and providing for our family, and imparting to us the principles of Love, Hard Work, and Discipline.

My Mother, the lovely Mildred Hargrow Brown, worked with the El Paso, Texas Police Department to provide aid and resources for victims of domestic abuse and intimate partner violence.  She had a deep understanding of the destructive impacts that poverty caused, which was borne out of unfulfilled humanitarian needs.  For many years, my mother operated a food pantry from our kitchen, providing assistance to over 4,000 individuals, effectively teaching us the value of empathy and compassion.   Despite having limited resources and the responsibility of raising six children, she remained undeterred by life's challenges.  The core values she imparted to me include Faith, Hope, Compassion, and Perseverance.

Vision

Our vision is to eradicate hunger and poverty in all its forms globally, one soul at a time, while spreading the Love and Compassion of Jesus Christ.

Mission

Our mission is to demonstrate mercy, compassion, and love, and to share the message of the Cross to those in a humanitarian crisis. We aim to meet physical needs while sharing God's Word, acting as Jesus' Hands and Feet. Every effort, no matter how small, matters; helping even just one person fulfills our mission.
